The nursing process is integrated throughout. Each NANDA diagnosis includes associated Nursing Interventions Classifications (NIC) and Nursing Outcomes Classifications (NOC). Appendices include Gordon's functional health patterns, a list of selected nursing diagnoses by medical diagnosis, and NANDA International. "Doody's Core Titles™ 2009."

Aid for Nursing Students Writing Care Plans

Review Date: July 6, 2005

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous - relatively small book crammed with info that is invaluable to students learning to write care plans. It's my go to book and all my friends are borrowing it too. You get NANDA, NIC and NOC material to work with. I have seen lots of care plan books, but this is the easiest and most complete to work with - AWESOME. The older edition is fine if you want to save money.
This is all you need

My very kind professor loaned me several care plan books to look through to decide which I wanted to buy. Many of the more comprehensive guides were confusing, disorganized, and full of fluff I didn't need. This book had everything I needed, was well organized, and was easy to use. This is the only book I decided to buy, in the end.

Each nursing diagnosis is listed with defining characteristics, outcomes and interventions. You can look up a diagnosis either by related medical condition or by NANDA nursing diagnosis.

No fluff, no bells and whistles, just serious information, all the information you need, and none of the junk you don't.
One of the best for nursing students.

Having spent a small fortune on nursing careplan and nursing diagnosis books, this one is a must have. It is easy to follow and has sections for adult, pediatric, geriatric and adolescent health care with diagnosis, interventions, rationales and expected outcomes as well as assessments, defining characteristics, associated medical diagnoses and documentation. My care plans grades improved with the use of this book as well as the ease of writing those dreaded care plans.
